Who we are
Asterisk LLC is a family-owned company in the Kansas City area that installs epoxy floors and provides construction and warehouse maintenance services.
What we collect
- Estimate requests: your first and last name, phone number, email address, how you prefer we contact you, your city or location, the type of job, the approximate square footage, and anything you tell us about the project.
- Photos and files: any photos or files you attach to your request (up to 10, 5 MB each).
- Technical information: your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, recorded by our web host’s server logs, by Google Analytics, and by the spam protection described below.
How we use it
- To respond to your request, schedule a visit and prepare your estimate.
- To contact you the way you asked: by text, call or email.
- To do the work and keep the business and tax records we’re required to keep.
- To understand how visitors find and use our site, so we can improve it.
- To prevent spam and keep the site secure.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Cookies, analytics and spam protection
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our site: which pages are viewed, how you arrived (for example, from a search or another website), and your general location and device type. It may also record when you send our estimate form, but not what you type. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (such as _ga). Google receives your IP address to provide the service but doesn’t store it in our reports, and we don’t send Google your name, email address, phone number or project details. Our estimate form uses hCaptcha to stop automated spam. hCaptcha may set cookies and receives your IP address and information about your browser to check that a real person is sending the form. See the hCaptcha Privacy Policy. The form also uses a hidden field that catches spam bots; it doesn’t collect anything about you. Our site doesn’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
Who we share it with
Only the services we need to run the business:
- Namecheap, which hosts this website.
- Google, whose Gmail service receives your estimate request and any photos you attach, and which provides our site analytics (Google Analytics).
- hCaptcha, for spam protection.
- Our email delivery service, which sends the form to us.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Your request and photos stay in our email and on our website’s form records as long as we need them to work with you, and longer where tax or accounting rules require. Copies of uploaded files on our web server are deleted automatically within about an hour, once the request has been emailed to us.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by calling, texting or emailing us. We’ll delete what we can, but we may need to keep records we’re legally required to keep.
Security
Our site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections. If a data breach ever affects your personal information, we’ll notify you as the law requires.
Children
Our site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Links to other sites
Our site links to our Instagram page and other websites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
